Effort vs Result in VSA
Learn how VSA reads the relationship between activity and outcome.
Concept summary
Effort versus result asks whether the activity shown by volume produced meaningful price progress. When effort is high but result is weak, the chart may be warning that the move is being absorbed or rejected.
Why it matters
This concept prevents traders from chasing large candles blindly. The lesson is not that every mismatch is a reversal. The lesson is to pause, define invalidation, and wait for confirmation.
Confirmation
A useful read usually needs location, prior liquidity, background conditions, and follow-through. Without those, effort versus result is only an observation.
Invalidation
The read is weakened when price accepts beyond the zone and continues with healthy spread and close. The idea must be allowed to die.
